You're correct that Nora Ephron was sublimely talented, but she did not direct "When Harry Met Sally." She wrote it. Rob Reiner directed it. Which may be why that's his mom saying "I'll have what she's having."

I think, maybe, what we see in our heroes is really what we know deep down is the best of us.
